Protests took place in many places across the country over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). At the same time, historian Ramchandra Guha was also detained in Bangalore. During this period, 20 metro stations in Delhi were also closed down, although most were opened later. Internet and mobile services were also stopped in some areas of Delhi for a few hours. During this time there was a lot of violence in UP. In Sambhal, protesters set the bus on fire. While the police outpost was blown up in Lucknow and dozens of vehicles were set on fire.
