Millions of liters of dirty water flows daily in the Bad Hall - Namami Gange Project in Varanasi
About 33 percent of the dirty water of Varanasi city, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is flowing directly into the Ganges. It also includes sewage sludge. There is a continuous delay in construction of two sewer treatment plants on the Ganges. At the same time, the treatment plants already built are also unable to treat sewer according to the capacity. Although the officials claim that after the construction of both the sewer treatment plants, the sewer of the city will be treated and dumped in the Ganges, it seems difficult to say how true this claim will be.
